A series of atmospheric pictures of York by night, magically lit by lamplight, by gallery resident artist Mark Braithwaite — joined by a small selection of works chosen for their complementary mood and palette. The Silent Night collection has been one of Mark's most enduring ranges — capturing the timeless ambience of York, one of the world's most picturesque cities.
Mark's York Minster addition to the collection was a finalist in the 2022 national Fine Art Awards.

In 2025, we expanded the presentation choices of the four most popular images in the series to include a hand-finished option; the artwork is finished with a clear acrylic gel to give a unique depth and texture, along with vibrant colours, and requires no glazing.
