Jonathan Williams

Yorkshire-born resident artist Jonathan Williams combines graphic design training with the ancient art of silk painting to produce vivid, luminous work unlike anything else. Painting directly onto silk gives his pieces a luminous, stained-glass quality inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany — and that vibrancy carries through beautifully into his prints. Scenes of York — The Shambles, York Minster, the city streets — glow with colour and light in a way that's entirely his own.
