Nicola Jane Gillyon is an award-winning British wildlife and pet portrait artist based in Beverley, East Yorkshire, and a signature member of Artists for Conservation. Her work has been recognised internationally, including selection as a finalist for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) Wildlife Artist of the Year.
Nicola specialises in highly detailed coloured pencil and graphite drawings, working on cotton watercolour paper with archival-quality pencils — Faber-Castell Polychromos and Caran d'Ache — chosen for their lightfastness and longevity. Her subjects range from wildlife and birds to domestic animals and bespoke pet commissions, each piece built up with extraordinary patience to capture the character and quiet intensity of the animal.
Nicola's original drawings are complemented by a selection of fine art prints available at The Braithwaite Gallery — the perfect way to bring her extraordinarily detailed wildlife art into your home.
