The Braithwaite Gallery was founded in York city centre in 2000 by husband and wife team Mark and Anne Braithwaite.
Mark Braithwaite is our original York Artist. Mark is well known for painting views of our beautiful city, and can often be found painting on location in York.
We work with many talented artists with a diverse range of styles and subjects, and hope to have something to suit all tastes!

The display In the window caught our eye and just fell in love with Forbidden Love piece. We popped in to the shop where we were greeted by a lovely lady who told us about the piece as well as the others and how they all have a story..we went away and the piece played on my mind, so I returned the very next day and purchased it. I have actually found art I wish to collect. Just love the dear diary piece that comes
with it. Thank you for making our visit memorable.
Wondered into this gallery while strolling around York. Fell into the world of Dotty Earl, purchased two limited prints, Big Night In and Just Another Day, retired two weeks ago and they just spoke to me, thank you Dotty.
The little gallery is filled with amazing art work. Knowledgeable, friendly lady, and great service. Purchased on Friday 11th April and delivered safely today, Tuesday 15th April, in Aberdeen, Scotland. While I would have the confidence to order on line, I cannot wait to return to York and visit the Gallery again.

I absolutely love my new beneath the sheets print of Bedern. It's by far my favourite one yet. Just so full of colour and when you put the uv light on it is truly magical. So much to see, so many ghosts 👻

I found your gallery whilst on a weekend break in York a couple of weeks ago, I asked for a card, so I could browse your catalogue at leisure, from home. The Drac-Ewe-La I ordered was processed quickly and delivered within 4 days - wrapped really well. I absolutely love it! The colours are so vibrant, the frame show cases it perfectly.
