Moments in Time

Moments in Time is a collection from gallery resident artist Mark Braithwaite — intimate, atmospheric scenes of two silhouetted figures on a hill, framed by a tree against richly coloured night skies.

Each painting features a classic car and a luminous moon, the skies brought to life using Schmincke Horadam Supergranulation watercolours — pigments that bloom and separate in water to create those extraordinary, otherworldly effects. Mark works in watercolour and mixed media to achieve the depth and richness you see in each piece.

The titles are a quiet nod to much-loved songs — read them and you'll find the tune already playing in your head.
