Silent Night, Stonegate by Mark Braithwaite
From The Silent Night Collection
Regularly in winter, Mark Braithwaite paints a new Silent Night — and Stonegate is his 2026 release. One of York's oldest streets, Stonegate follows the route of the Roman Via Praetoria, connecting the ancient fortress to the River Ouse. Today, its timber-framed buildings and stone paving lead the eye up towards the South Transept and Rose Window of York Minster.
This atmospheric giclée print captures the view looking up Stonegate on a snowy winter's evening. Lamplight catches the falling flakes and the snow gathered on ancient stone, casting a warm, golden glow across the scene — a quintessential York winter moment.
