Simon Clarke’s rounded, fluffy sheep bring a delightfully woolly twist to Robin Hood’s Bay in Smugglers B’aa. Inspired by a trip to Yorkshire, this characterful scene draws on the harbour village’s steep cobbled streets, dramatic coastal scenery and rich history as an 18th-century smuggling hotspot.
It’s a charming meeting of coastal adventure, local history and Simon’s gentle humour. His colourful streets and unmistakable sheep capture something of the spirit of olde Yorkshire, making this playful world feel right at home in our gallery in the heart of historic York.
