Ernest and Violet dance hand-in-hand through a carpet of bluebells, under a dappled sunny sky — carefree, romantic, and very much in their own world. It is the kind of scene that makes you want to kick off your shoes and join them.
This is a Gallery Remarque — created exclusively for The Braithwaite Gallery by Sam Toft herself. Each remarque features an original illustration hand-drawn by Sam in the white border area adjacent to the title. Every one is completely different, making this a truly one-of-a-kind piece that cannot be found anywhere else.
Edition Details
This is edition number 368 of 395 fine art prints + 40 Artist's Proofs. Printed on 300gsm fine art paper using giclée printing. Individually signed and numbered by Sam Toft. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity from publisher Collier & Dobson.
In Aid of Charity

⚠️ Important Update — 8 September 2026: We have been informed that PAPYRUS — our chosen charity and the organisation dedicated to the prevention of young suicide — has entered administration. We are currently seeking legal advice as to the recipient of funds already raised in aid of PAPYRUS, and will update you as soon as we are able to do so. We remain committed to ensuring all funds support a worthy cause and will be moving forward with a different charity in due course.
We are also running a charity draw to win a remarqued edition of A Big Old Squish! — with the winning number selected by Sam Toft herself at the First and Finest Exhibition on 20th September 2026. The draw will still take place as planned.
We are releasing one Gallery Remarque each week in the run-up to our First and Finest Exhibition on Sunday 20th September 2026, where many more remarques and special edition pieces will also be on display. This print is presented mounted only, in a conservation quality off-white mount with v-groove detail, acetate wrapped and ready to frame.
