Description
Starry Gazings – Sam Toft
A sky full of stars, someone you love beside you, and Doris keeping close at your feet. Ernest and Violet Mustard share a quiet moment beneath a beautiful blue night sky, looking up together while their faithful Jack Russell joins in the starry gazing. There’s such tenderness in this little scene: the simple happiness of being together, with nowhere else you need to be.
Gallery Remarque
Sam has given this particular print an extra helping of Mustard magic. Drawn by hand on the mount, Violet, Mrs Mustard, gazes upwards from the lower left, while Mr Mustard and Doris the Jack Russell do a little starry gazing of their own on the right. It’s a lovely echo of the picture above, as though their quiet evening beneath the stars has spilled out onto the mount.
These little original drawings make this a particularly personal piece to take home. Sam added them here at The Braithwaite Gallery during our First & Finest Meet the Artist exhibition on 20 September 2026, giving this limited edition its own unique keepsake of a very special day. The drawings are on the mount, rather than the print itself: a little original Sam Toft alongside your signed limited edition. See photos from Sam’s visit on our First & Finest exhibition page.
To share a little of that kindness, we will also make a donation to charity for each Gallery Remarque sold.
