We are delighted to introduce Moments of Wonder, Sam's first self published limited edition calendar.
This 2026 calendar is only available from Sam herself, from City Books in Brighton, and The Braithwaite Gallery, here in York. We are thrilled to be part of this project and to be able to offer Sam's calendar to her legion of fans in Yorkshire!
The calendar is expected mid October but can be pre-ordered in advance.
Gallery owner Anne was especially moved when Sam decided to donate £1 from the sale of every calendar to youth suicide prevention charity PAPYRUS, a charity we have both supported since the loss of Anne's son Jake. Together we can make a difference!
Sam tells us "My 2026 calendar is necessarily a limited edition as I can’t fund a large run. And we are printing in the UK not China which makes it more expensive too. But it will be beautiful. It’s the usual 30x30cm square format you are used to from the ArtGroup, but with uncoated fine art paper which reproduces my colours wonderfully, spiral bound so it hangs flat, and with a real quality feel."
This year's images are:
Wherever You Are, You Are Loved
This is the bench where we sit and listen to the trees
The Old Fashioned Sort
The Gooseberry
You Warm Me from the Inside
A Blossomy Day
The Bubble Man
I'll See You in My Dreams
In Case You Were in Any Doubt. Yes. You. Can.
On Our Way Back Home
When everything is unfolding just the way it should
Life is sweet, the best is yet tome come...
On their way to Little Birdy's Winter Cafe
A warm hearted look at life through the eyes of Sam Toft and her best known characters, The Mustards. Ernest Hemmingway Mustard, his dear lady wife Violet and a portly little terrier called Doris. In this calendar, each month links a favourite painting with thoughts and real life stories, an insight into her creative process.
‘In these uncertain times I hope there’s some comfort to be found in my imaginary world, where the breeze is always blowing, friendships come easily and there is always such thing as a free lunch.’
Sam Toft lives in a tall white house by the sea with a large shaggy dog called Birdy and a talking budgie. Mainly painting and drawing, she also makes cakes, ceramics, puppets and bronzes which are sometimes available at www.samtoftoriginals.co.uk
Sam will donate £1 for each calendar sold to Papyrus to help prevent Youth Suicide.
Thank you for your support.
