Description
York, The Minster – Linda Mellin
New for 2026. A charming and characterful view of York's most iconic skyline, packed with detail — Micklegate Bar, Bitchdaughter Tower, Fishergate Bar, the Medieval City Walls, St William's College and, of course, the magnificent Minster itself. Linda Mellin's quirky, colourful style brings the city's layered history to life in a single glance.
Look closely — you might even spot a familiar face. One of the figures in the scene is Mark Braithwaite, our own gallery artist, captured painting en plein air in York by Linda Mellin herself.
This original painting is also available as a print and as an embellished framed print. It is the first of a set of three — York, Museum Gardens and York, Clifford's Tower are also available individually, or together as the York, The Walled City Triptych.
Painted by Yorkshire Life Landscape Artist of the Year 2017 and Fine Art Trade Guild Best Up and Coming Artist 2022, Linda Mellin.
All of Linda's work is mounted and framed by her son Duncan, from his framing workshop in the Dales. This original is presented mounted and framed behind glass, in a painted white wooden frame with matching inner slip frame.
