Description
Little Durdle – Gary Walton
A cliff with a great arched opening, reminiscent of Dorset's famous Durdle Door, frames this gentle coastal scene. A tug boat sits moored close to the water's edge as the tide slips away, while along the clifftop a row of Gary's signature tall, thin buildings stands proudly against the sky. A little way out to sea, a tiny shack perches on stilts. The turquoise sea glistens beneath a softly glowing peach and grey twilight sky, and Gary's familiar restricted palette gives Little Durdle a wonderful sense of calm and serenity.
This giclée print on 300gsm watercolour paper is presented in an off-white mount.
A Perfect Pair
Little Durdle was published as a pair with Back to Back, which shares the same twilight colours and coastal setting. Hung side by side, the two make a lovely matching set.
