Back to Back – Gary Walton
Two tugboats rest on the beach, moored together and angled so their backs are just touching, like old friends leaning on one another at the end of a long day. A little way out to sea, a rock with a hollowed-out arch carries a lighthouse and a lone tree on its summit. From the left, the end of an iron pier juts into view topped with a row of Gary's signature tall, thin houses, while above the glistening sea a soft peach and grey twilight sky glows beneath a crescent moon. Back to Back is Gary Walton at his most charming: gentle, quirky and instantly recognisable.
This giclée print on 300gsm watercolour paper is presented in an off-white mount.
A Perfect Pair
Back to Back was published as a pair with Little Durdle, which shares the same twilight colours and coastal setting. Hung side by side, the two make a lovely matching set.

An Autumn 2025 release, limited to 150 fine art prints + 15 Artist's Proofs. Printed on 300gsm watercolour paper using giclée printing. Individually signed and numbered by Gary Walton. Supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
