Don’t forget we now have to ORIGINAL of this painting to sell too!
Each year we choose a charity to support, and with the help of our amazing artists and customers, we try to do our bit to try to make a difference for others.
For the next year, our chosen charity is PAPYRUS, a charity focused on the Prevention of Young Suicide. This charity has a special significance for us, as we lost Jake Braithwaite, son of Anne and Mark, the gallery owners, to suicide in 2018, aged just 20.
PAPYRUS tells us: "Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. We believe many young suicides can be prevented. Through fundraising you are raising vital awareness of PAPYRUS and spreading our message of hope."
Artist Sam Toft has once again generously sent us some very special artwork for our charity fundraiser. Over the years Sam's generosity with time and talent has raised many thousands of pounds for charitable causes.
Sam has created Time to Make Memories, the original was sold at the @canvasforthemac - Macmillan Caring Locally - Charity Canvas online auction, on 25th November. Via a remarkable act of benevolence, we are thrilled to now have the original for sale in the gallery, with a further 10% of the proceeds going to our own PAPYRUS fundraiser.
Sam has sent us four beautifully remarqued limited editions of the artwork, which we will use to raise funds for PAPYRUS. Each has lots of original illustrations hand drawn by Sam in the white area beneath the title. The edition has just 8 prints plus 2 artist's proofs, and the remarques on each are completely different so each piece is unique.
Edition ONE is being raffled; tickets are £10 each, and can be bought online, by phone or in person at the gallery. All money raised will be donated to PAPYRUS. Each £10 donation will be allocated a ticket for Edition One, and the winner will be chosen at random on 31st December 2022, with the print shipped in the New Year. UPDATE- £1570 raised by the raffle. Thank you!
