Carry Me Home – Sam Toft
Mr and Mrs Mustard are walking home, and Doris is travelling between them in a shopping bag. Tired? Possibly. Weary? Perhaps. Taking full advantage of the good nature of two people who love her unconditionally? Almost certainly. Doris has clearly decided that walking is for other dogs, and Mr and Mrs Mustard — being exactly who they are — wouldn’t have it any other way. It is a quintessential Sam Toft moment: warm, funny, and full of the quiet joy of belonging.
Gallery Remarque
This particular piece has an original drawing of Mr and Mrs Mustard carrying Doris between them, hand-drawn and signed by Sam on the lower right of the mount. Their little procession echoes the affectionate humour of the print above, giving this framed piece its own one-off miniature original artwork.
After our Meet the Artist event at The Braithwaite Gallery on 20 September 2026, Sam stayed on to create hand-drawn remarques for the gallery to offer for sale following her visit. Spring 2026 release. Limited to 150 prints plus 15 Artist’s Proofs. Printed on 300gsm fine art paper, individually signed and numbered by Sam Toft and supplied with a certificate of authenticity from publisher C&D Fine Art.
