Another Small Wiggly Thing by Sam Toft
Mr Mustard and an early, very portly Doris have stopped to inspect a Small Wiggly Thing on the ground. Mr Mustard leans towards it in his ochre coat and distinctive striped hat while Doris looks on, making this a charming glimpse into the early development of one of Sam Toft’s most recognisable characters. There is a lovely sense of sensitivity, concern and gentle humour in the scene.

This very rare, long sold-out print is part of a collection of Sam Toft limited editions being offered on the secondary market. The current owner is reluctantly selling the works and hopes to rehome them somewhere they will be appreciated and loved. It is a pleasure to bring them to The Braithwaite Gallery in York, the northern home of all things Tofty for more than two decades and one of Sam’s biggest fans.
Condition
This is a pre-owned, unmounted secondary-market artwork and is offered sold as seen. There is some creasing along the bottom of the paper, which would be covered if the print were mounted. Please review the photograph carefully for the presentation and condition.
