Description
Ammonite – Gary Walton
A great corked glass bottle has washed up on a little sandbank at the water's edge, and inside it, a whole seaside world carries on regardless. Wonky timber-framed cottages with blue doors crowd together, a tall-masted ship stands high on its stilts, and a little orange fishing boat sails past with its white sail billowing — all perfectly held within the glass. Outside, a red-and-white lighthouse keeps watch from its rocky stack, a pale moon hangs in the soft pink-and-teal sky, and in the foreground a single ammonite shell rests on the shore, an ancient treasure beside this impossibly magical scene. Whimsical, wistful, and pure Gary Walton.
This giclée print on 300gsm watercolour paper is presented in an off-white mount.
