Mark Braithwaite

Whilst still at University, Mark began pavement drawing outside York Minster, progressing to a stall selling prints

and, eventually, to his own gallery; first on Stonegate, and in 2002, to The Braithwaite Gallery's current location on Low Petergate, now in it's 21st year.

Mark still enjoys sketching outdoors and, on days when he fancies a change from painting in the studio, can often be found in his favourite spot on High Petergate, next to St Michael le Belfry church.

Mark has been a finalist in many art awards and competitions, including Most Popular Artist in the Fine Art Awards, and The Guardian's London Lives Competition. He has been Regimental Artist for The 2 Signal Regiment in York and The 12th Regiment Royal Artillery in Germany. Corporate commissions include for Nestlé and GMB Union.
