Where's the Key – Anthony Marn
A bright-eyed little mouse perches on a Spam tin in Anthony Marn’s Where's the Key, its tiny paws held beneath its nose and its long tail curling upwards. The familiar yellow lettering and colourful label bring a nostalgic touch to the scene, while the unopened tin and questioning title suggest that this hopeful little visitor has one small problem to solve before supper.
Soft light picks out pink ears, delicate whiskers and tousled fur against a richly textured olive-green background. Deep shadows and the warm wooden ledge give this endearing character a quiet storytelling charm. For anyone with a soft spot for mice and their mischievous ways, it is a little scene to bring a smile.
Where's the Key is an original oil painting on board by Anthony Marn, presented in a stepped dark grey painted wood frame with a white inner slip.
A Hidden Mouse Remarque
There is another little mouse to discover on the reverse of the frame: Anthony has drawn a tiny remarque in pencil, a personal finishing touch from the artist. Hidden from view when the painting is displayed, it is a lovely extra detail for its owner to enjoy.
