Each year we choose a charity to support, and with the help of our amazing artists and customers, we try to do our bit to try to make a difference for others.
Artist Gary Walton has sent us a beautiful original watercolour painting, titled 'Winter Solstice,' of a snow covered cottage nestled beneath a tree. We are raffling the mounted painting for charity.
TICKETS can be bought online or by phone in blocks of 5 for £10, or in person at the gallery for £2 each.
nb You will be assigned a ticket number/ block of 5 numbers. You will receive an email to confirm receipt however we will not be posting physical tickets.
The painting measures 95x348mm (image size) with mount dimensions of approximately 242x495mm. We have left the picture unframed so we can ship the painting to the winner anywhere in the world.
Our chosen charity is once again PAPYRUS, a charity focused on the Prevention of Young Suicide. This charity has a special significance for us, as we lost Jake Braithwaite, son of Anne and Mark, the gallery owners, to suicide in 2018, aged just 20.
After last year's fundraiser we sent £1570 to PAPYRUS via JustGiving. At 30/9/23 the total raised stands at £3627. Previous fundraisers for mental health charity Mind raised £5825. Huge thanks to everyone involved.
PAPYRUS tells us: "Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. We believe many young suicides can be prevented. Through fundraising you are raising vital awareness of PAPYRUS and spreading our message of hope."
This has been organised by The Braithwaite Gallery Ltd as a Small Society Lottery, registered with City of York Council, registration number CYC-071646.
Special thanks to the lovely ladies at City of York Council's Licensing Unit for speedily processing the registration.
We also have a JustGiving page if anyone wishes to donate without entering the raffle.
