Description
We have been asked to sell two of gallery resident artist Mark Braithwaite's early figurative works on behalf of their current owner, who no longer has space to display them.
It's always nice to see early work again - it's like reconnecting with an old friend!
This is Reflections, painted in oil on canvas back in 2006.
The artist's model stands, deep in contemplation, in front of the mirror. She wears a red dress with a black shawl, lit by candlelight. A vase of roses and a glass of red wine completes the setting.
Image size is 24x24", plus frame; external frame dimensions are approximately 29x29". Framed in a champagne tone silver scoop frame with a linen inner slip. The frame has a few minor chips, as shown.
