Recycled – Shaun Tymon
Little Wreny tears along, arms outstretched, face tilted skyward — and above him, soaring on the breeze, is a kite of his own making. No shop-bought toy this: it's fashioned from a carrier bag and a length of string, repurposed, reimagined, and utterly airborne. There's something quietly brilliant about that — the most ingenious things are often made from nothing at all.
This A4 original charcoal and carbon pencil drawing on paper is presented double mounted in a pewter and black angled frame.
About the Artist
My name is Shaun Tymon. I'm a self-taught artist from Hull. I've always enjoyed drawing, painting and creating things for as long as I can remember — most of my artwork is based on my childhood and memories of growing up on the streets of Hull in the 80s and 90s. Hopefully that nostalgia comes through in my work. I'm forever thinking up little characters, most of which have symbolic meanings behind them. My little character 'Wreny', for example, is a nod to my late father who sadly passed away — he was a bird fanatic, and so you won't find little Wreny more than a stone's throw away from his partner in crime, his little feathered friend Wren.
