Plums & Rustic Bowl – Anthony Marn
A pair of tiny mice have discovered a rustic terracotta bowl piled with ripe purple plums. One leans forward to investigate the fruit, while its companion sits upright among the rounded plums, little paws raised and tail curling above the feast. A scrummy supper, if they can keep it to themselves!
The bowl's worn rim and warm earthy colours contrast beautifully with the deep violet fruit and softly shadowed background. Anthony Marn's wildlife paintings have a vintage, nostalgic charm reminiscent of Beatrix Potter's sketches, turning a simple still life into a small story full of curiosity, gentle humour and the pleasure of an unexpected treat.

About Anthony Marn
Born in Manchester in 1963, Anthony Marn lives with his family on the edge of the Pennines in the North of England. He works exclusively in oils, exploring the possibilities of light and colour. His career has included successful solo exhibitions and an appearance on the BBC's Show Me the Monet.
