Moonrise – Shaun Tymon
A crescent moon hangs low over a darkened clifftop, its pale light catching the white tower of a lighthouse standing sentinel at the end of a winding path. A single window glows at the very top, a quiet beacon in the night, while bare winter trees reach into the charcoal sky and the warm earth beneath glows amber — a scene of stillness and solitude, suspended between land and sea.
My name is Shaun Tymon, I'm a self-taught artist from Hull. I've always enjoyed drawing, painting and creating things for as long as I can remember — most of my artwork is based on my childhood and memories of growing up on the streets in Hull in the 80s/90s. Hopefully that nostalgia comes through in my work. I'm forever thinking up little characters, most of which have symbolic meanings behind them. My little character 'Wreny' is a nod to my late father who sadly passed away — he was a bird fanatic, so you won't find little Wreny more than a stone's throw away from his partner in crime, his little feathered friend Wren.
