Moonlit Cottage – Shaun Tymon
Deep in a darkened wood, a white cottage with a red-tiled roof stands quietly beneath a crescent moon. A single window glows at the top, warm light spilling out into the night — a suggestion of life within, of warmth and shelter amid the bare winter trees. It is the kind of place you feel you have always known, half-remembered from a dream.
My name is Shaun Tymon, I'm a self-taught artist from Hull. I've always enjoyed drawing, painting and creating things for as long as I can remember — most of my artwork is based on my childhood and memories of growing up on the streets in Hull in the 80s/90s. Hopefully that nostalgia comes through in my work. I'm forever thinking up little characters, most of which have symbolic meanings behind them. My little character 'Wreny' is a nod to my late father who sadly passed away — he was a bird fanatic, so you won't find little Wreny more than a stone's throw away from his partner in crime, his little feathered friend Wren.
