Into the Wild – Anna Schofield
A silvery stream draws you into a secluded woodland in Into the Wild, an original oil painting on canvas board by Anna Schofield. Lush greens and golden yellows crowd its banks, with touches of russet and orange bringing warmth to the foreground beneath a softly blended blue-grey sky.
Thick, expressive strokes give the foliage an almost sculptural texture, contrasting with the softer light beyond the trees. White and pale turquoise highlights catch the movement of the water as it winds towards you, capturing the pleasure of discovering a quiet corner of the countryside.
Anna creates her artworks from memory, giving her the freedom to express the emotions a place leaves behind. Her decisive brushwork and richly textured surfaces lend each painting its own energy and character.
