Called to the Quiet is part of Rosie Smith’s Fragmented series — a collection of close-up wildlife portraits where the animal emerges from a swirl of loose, painterly marks, blurring the boundary between subject and background.
Rosie Smith is a UK-based wildlife and conservation artist working in watercolour and oils, whose paintings capture both the beauty and vulnerability of the natural world. A finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year and Sketch for Survival, she is committed to using art as a voice for conservation — contributing work to projects including the Big Elephant Auction with Explorers Against Extinction.
