Egg in a Cup – Anthony Marn
Breakfast has attracted a tiny, rather determined guest in Anthony Marn's Egg in a Cup. Beside a soft-boiled egg in a gleaming silver-coloured egg cup, a bright-eyed mouse holds a morsel between its paws. A piece of broken brown eggshell rests on the wooden ledge, and this little breakfast thief seems quite content to help itself.
Soft light picks out oversized pink ears, delicate whiskers and the curve of a long tail, while the polished egg cup catches a bright reflection. Against the cracked, olive-green wall, deep shadows give this intimate scene a lovely nostalgic warmth. This limited edition art print brings the quiet humour and storybook charm of Anthony's original painting into a new, smaller format.
