An linocut print on paper from York artist Shaun Wyatt.
Shaun's Clifford's Tower print shows York's famous landmark seen from behind the walls of Tower Gardens.
It is printed on cream paper, and is titled, numbered and signed in pencil by the artist. The print is numbered from a run of just 10 prints.
Paper size is approximately 11x11", with an image area of 8x8"
We have two variations:
Edition 1 of 10 has been hand watercolored by the artist.
Edition 2 of 20 is printed in mono colour.
Shaun's printmaking journey began whilst studying illustration at University in Derby. He is part of the York Printmakers art group.
Shaun tells us that he tries to capture images of historic buildings and street scenes with his camera, using these photographs as reference materials for his intricate linocuts.
He loves the carving stage of the Lino cut creative prices; capturing marks and detail, and tells us that he gets an energy and buzz from not knowing what the finished print will eventually look like.
