Being Looked Out For (and Looking Forward to a Warm Brew) by Peter Brook, RBA 1927-2009
Peter was known as 'The Pennine Landscape painter.' He included himself and his dog in many of his images.
His images are delightful in their simplicity and innocence. A small row of houses stand alone on a remote hillside. The snow is falling thick and fast and the lone figure of a man and his dog are heading for home. In one house the lights are on and smoke from the chimney tells us that a warm fire is burning. A figure stands in the doorway, waiting to welcome them home.
