Bath Time – Dotty Earl
From Dotty Earl's Tall Stories series — where the figures are always gloriously oversized. It's late. The crescent moon is up, the city rooftops are dark outside the window, and someone has earned a proper bath. The pink polka-dot bathroom is warm and steamy, the chandelier glowing, the shelves lined with potions and lotions. She's in the roll-top, shower cap on, bubbles up to her chin. The scales sit on the floor. She's not looking at them.
In front of her bath, her dog has his own tin tub. Rubber duck. Frothy bubbles on his head. He seems perfectly happy with this arrangement.
A nostalgic, warmly funny domestic scene — the kind of quiet evening ritual that Dotty captures better than anyone.
Dotty works in mixed media — watercolour with pastel and coloured pencil, with a smidge of charcoal and ink pen thrown in — giving her work a soft, whimsical quality that is entirely her own. She calls it The Twirly World of Dotty Earl.

About Dotty Earl
Dotty was born and grew up on the Wirral, and was drawn to art from a young age — going on to study at Wirral Metropolitan College before earning a degree in Film and Animation at the University of Humberside. She spent many years as a digital artist and animator in the computer games industry, illustrating novels and designing artwork for clothing lines along the way.
Dotty now lives in a small Yorkshire village, where her love of painting bright, colourful characters — created to make people smile — continues to grow.
