A red squirrel tiptoes along a washing line, tail curled for balance and eyes bright with mischief, set against a rich woodland green background. It's a quietly joyful moment of British wildlife, captured by Lancashire-based artist Nicky Litchfield. With meticulous attention to detail and a gentle, expressive touch, Nicky reveals the individual character and spirit of every creature she draws, and this little acrobat has personality to spare.

The Woodland Green Collection
Nicky has used this same rich woodland green background for several of her pieces, so Balancing Act sits beautifully alongside the new doodle The Look, Loveable Rogue II, Taking a Peek, Playtime and the hare Hugo Hare. Hung together, they make a lovely matching grouping.
