Amanda tells us that her inspiration comes from her love of books, many of which are personal favourites, and her love of striped tights and big boots! She has created this wonderful image by incorporating the spines of a selection of well-known and classic books which have been enjoyed for decades by children and young adults. Authors and titles include Lewis Carroll, Dr Seuss, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Roald Dahl, Pippi Longstocking, Enid Blyton, C S Lewis, and Winnie the Pooh.
In this image we see our reader sitting atop a pile of books and hanging forward to see the book she has opened and balanced below her. All we can see of her is her blonde hair, turquoise sleeves, striped tights and pink ballet shoes.
Featuring a deep forest green background, this print pairs perfectly with another of Amanda's Girls on Books series, Sitting at the Top, which sports a similar green velour backdrop!
