A delightfully quirky coastal limited edition by one of our most popular artists, Gary Walton.
Gary has created this beautiful image in his typically distinctive and imaginative style. His use of a limited colour palette brings a sense of calm and serenity, whilst at the same time making it instantly recognisable.
In the foreground we see two tug boats, one large and painted orange and the other small and painted green which easily convey the whimsical idea of a nautical romance between them. On the pier to the left stands a row of tall, thin buildings which are so very typical in Gary’s images. A lamppost clings precariously to the end of the pier, a perfect example of the extraordinary reality that Gary creates. Out to sea stands a large rock with a lighthouse atop and another building perches at a lower level behind. The sky is filled with stormy clouds but the calm sea glitters by the light of the setting sun.
