Freetime – Simon Clarke
Time takes a wonderfully woolly turn in Freetime, Simon Clarke’s playful nod to Salvador Dalí. Outside Dali’s Clock Repairs, fluffy sheep find themselves surrounded by melting clocks, while a crate marked ‘Free Time’ adds another cheeky twist to the scene. How many Dalí references can you spot?
The softly glowing shop window and colourful old-fashioned frontage bring warmth to Simon’s surreal little world. His characterful sheep and cobbled streets remind us of olde York, making this imaginative scene feel right at home in our gallery in the heart of the historic city.
