For our \u003cstrong\u003eSummer 2026 fundraiser\u003c\/strong\u003e in aid of PAPYRUS, we are delighted to show you \u003cem\u003eYou Put a Smile on My Face\u003c\/em\u003e — a specially remarqued Sam Toft limited edition artwork, created exclusively for The Braithwaite Gallery by Sam Toft herself.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince 2023, our chosen charity has been \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.papyrus-uk.org\" title=\"Link to PAPYRUS website\"\u003ePAPYRUS\u003c\/a\u003e — a charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. This cause has a very personal significance for us: we lost Jake Braithwaite, son of gallery owners Anne and Mark, to suicide in 2018, aged just 20.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAbout the Prize\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSam Toft has remarqued ten different limited editions exclusively for The Braithwaite Gallery to raise funds for PAPYRUS. Each features an original illustration hand-drawn by Sam in the white area adjacent to the title — and because every remarque is completely different, each piece is entirely unique and cannot be found anywhere else.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis particular piece — \u003cem\u003eYou Put a Smile on My Face\u003c\/em\u003e — is being raffled, with all funds donated to PAPYRUS. The remaining nine Gallery Remarques will be released one per week in the run-up to our First and Finest Exhibition, with 10% of each sale also going to the charity. The exhibition on \u003cstrong\u003e20th September 2026\u003c\/strong\u003e will feature many more remarques and special edition pieces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth Sam and everyone at The Braithwaite Gallery are proud to support PAPYRUS and the vital work they do for young people in need. Just £7 can help provide a lifesaving phone call to someone in need.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under 35 in the UK. We believe many young suicides can be prevented. Through fundraising you are raising vital awareness of PAPYRUS and spreading our message of hope.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll funds raised from this raffle will be donated to PAPYRUS via our \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.justgiving.com\/page\/the-braithwaite-gallery-1670448263862\" title=\"Link to JustGiving\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eJustGiving page\u003c\/a\u003e. We are thrilled to have raised over £19,000 for this cause in 2023–26, and hope to do even more in the year ahead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBBC Radio York and local media have been wonderful supporters of our fundraising — Gallery Director Anne is regularly invited to speak on Bec Homer's morning show on BBC Radio York.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrevious fundraisers for mental health charity Mind raised £5,825.
