Mediterranean Dawn by Martin Delapena
A coastal harbour painting on stretched canvas. Two boats rest at low tide as the colours of dawn appear over the horizon.
MARTIN DELAPEÑA
Martin was born in Alcoy (Alicante) in 1958.
He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in his hometown, later moving on to the San Carlos Higher School of Fine Arts in Valencia.
Martin Delapeña is a quality painter, sensitive, emotional, and poetic, but with great expressive force in his brushwork, and a resounding accurate drawing.
With his good knowledge and feeling, Delapeña presents painting to us as something easy and gifted, hiding under that apparent suggestion the consistency of his masterful drawing, perfect perspective and loose brushwork.
Technique in constant improvement shown in any of his works.
Among his extensive themes, his landscape deserves to be highlighted, endowed with vital force, compositions of urban landscapes, beaches and coasts in combination with fishing boats.
De Paula is a great admirer of Sorolla, and he shows it by applying lights and colours of Mediterranean styles.
His exhibitions are constant in the best galleries in Spain and the rest of Europe, his work being highly sought after.
