The model for many of these inspirational pieces is dancer Lizzie Garthwaite:
Lizzie started dancing at the age of seven at Kirkham Henry Performing Arts in Malton. She's studied ballet, modern, tap, drama and singing. She successfully auditioned for the prestigious Louise Brown Scholarship class in York in 1997 and remained there until 2004. She has since assisted with the subsequent auditions. Having started performing in the local panto she went on to dance at the Grand Opera House in York. She competed in many festival competitions in Blackpool, Leeds, Harrogate, Tadcaster and Middlesbrough. As an intermediate and senior she was usually placed 1st in Ballet and 1st, 2nd or 3rd in all other categories. She's taken part in touring professional shows, usually at York. In 1999 she was the Cleveland Junior Ballet Champion and in the following years was placed 6th, 4th and 3rd in the Senior Championships. In 2004 she was placed in the top 15 in Miss Dance of Great Britain.
