The painting shows the view from the sea end of the harbour wall looking back towards the town - an unusual view not often approached by artists due to its difficult perspective - most artists have preferred to paint the view looking seaward from the town. The onlooker's eye is drawn along the boardwalk to the central lighthouse, the focal point, giving a feeling of depth to the picture. The original painting was done in watercolour on paper, in 2000.
