Resident artist at The Braithwaite Gallery in York, Mark is a self-taught artist, working in watercolour, oil, acrylic and pastel.
He has become a well known tourist attraction in the city over many years, painting outisde in the streets of our beautiful city!
His vast portfolio cover subjects as diverse as cityscapes, telephone boxes and dancers!
Ths section concentrates on Mark's photo realistic "Classic York Collection" - a series of traditional views built up over a number of years painting on location in the city. Each is easily recognisable as Mark's work, with its attention to detail and bold Impressionist colours.
Mark has tended to paint in acrylc on canvas whilst painting outdoors, as acrylic has the benefit of drying quickly and being resilient to Yorkshire's changeable weaher conditions! On sunny summer days in the city you may have seen Mark painting in watercolour !
Mark's trademark black cat, Lucy, makes an appearance in almost all of Mark's cityscape pictures.
